About Christine G Smith
Hola, Bonjour and Hello! I’m Christine, a north-east native with a passion for all things languages. I run CGSLS, a private tuition and group language service based in Consett, Co. Durham. Our motto is “Learn the Lingo!” and we want to help anyone who wants to learn, learn!
Before launching CGSLS in 2015, I worked for 10 years as a teacher and Head of Modern Foreign Languages at a Secondary School in Durham. I have over 20 years teaching experience across the North East and London and have used languages professionally in Travel, Marketing and Sport. I was also an Interpreter at the London 2012 Olympics!
I offer private Spanish and French tuition for individuals and groups of all ages and abilities. Mine is a personal, friendly and professional service tailored to your specific needs. Some students need exam support, others have properties abroad or would like to enjoy holidays more - many just want a new experience!
I host weekly Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level classes and Spanish Tapas Nights in the local area. These are engaging for everyone, with a fun, relaxed and very social atmosphere! At Tapas Nights, you can learn some Spanish and join in with themed quizzes and games, such as Spanish Bingo. Enjoy some delicious Spanish food with a glass or three of sangria. Some come along to try out Spanish with friends and family, others to meet people and make new connections over a shared love of languages.
